Can you introduce yourself?

How’s it goin’ guys? Bane here from ‘A Thousand Enemies’

We started the band late last year but got the ball rolling real quick, we wanted to be ready to stage a full on assault at the beginning of this year and that’s what we’ve done. For a band that’s only been gigging since January, we aint doing too bad at all. We played Metal Hammer’s ‘Hammerfest’ in March and have been booked for loads of awesome festival slots since including a bostin main stage set at The Rock & Blues Custom Show and two sets (Jager stage and New Blood stage) at the almighty ‘Bloodstock’. We also have some awesome support slots with some great bands for later in year, they’re all hush at the mo though. All in all, we’re a happy bunch of crazy motherfuckers!

Our music is essentially metal, but there’s so much more to it than just plain old run of the mill chug. We’re in the business of melody and diversity in our choons. We’ve been likened to ‘Killswitch Engage’, ‘Alter Bridge’, old school ‘Guns and Roses’ and even ‘Lamb of God’. As you can see, when you’ve been likened to such a completely different set of bands, it shows the complete diversity in the set. People will take something different away every time they see us which is cool with us, as that’s what we’re looking for. It’s all good. We’re influenced by such a massive scale of bands from completely different eras that we are bound to get that kind of feel from our music. Our influences range from all of the above to Disturbed, Machine Head, Rush, Pantera, Pendulum, Motley Crue, In Flames, Sevendust, Pearl Jam, Staind, Three Doors Down, Soil, Metallica, Seether, Black Stone Cherry, The Quireboys, Hell, Beholder and Evil Scarecrow to name but a few….. there are literally hundreds.

We decided to form a band because we all feel that we have something to give, musically and performance-wise to the metal community. The day we feel that aint happening anymore, we’ll fuck off and leave you in peace \m/ \m/

Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so when and what did you enjoy most about it?

Bloodstock has always been a favorite of mine. It has a huge family feel to it and to me that really matters. The organizers make you feel welcome and appreciated. It will always have a special place in my heart and it’s been a dream of mine to play since I first ever picked up a mic, I am absolutely made up that we’re gonna be there! Watching your hero’s on stage for years and years and only dreaming of being part of something as big as Bloodstock was something that felt a million miles away at one time, I’m proper chuffed to bits! Happy times!

Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?

Why? Because it’s fuckin’ AWESOME init??? The level of bands on the New Blood Stage this year is outstanding, to be part of that lineup is BOSTIN!

What was your initial reaction when you found out you where playing on the New Blood Stage?

I was literally wanking!!! I needed at least six pants changes a day for the first three week. Buzzin’ is not the word!

What is your opinion of the Bloodstock lineup?

As I said, the line-up this year is for me, the BEST line-up Bloodstock has had to date. For us to play a festival with the likes of Alice Cooper and Machine Head is UNREAL! Massive kudos to the Bloodstock team for grabbing in the bands that they have this year! Mindblowing!

What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock?

Just getting on that stage and doing what we do. There’s nothing better than playing an awesome festival in front of a cracking crowd! This one will be the biggest gig we’ve had to date! Get in!

What can the audience expect from you at the festival?

They can expect an awesome show from a right set of crazy bastards! Get to the front and see for yourselves. ;)

Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence?

One sentence? One word will do……. BOSTIN!!!!!!!!

Any message you wish to pass on to the PM readers?

Yeah, to the army of ‘Enemies’ that have supported us from the very beginning and to all the new ‘Enemies’ we’re picking up along the way… thanks guys, it’s you that’s put us where we are and helped us get to play these amazing shows,  we’ll never forget that. Much love to all \m/
