Sometimes it is very arduous to find the words to express what it is you truly want to say, and trying to find the words to capture the brilliance and sheer talent I’ve discovered is near impossible. I am of course talking about Ishanh and his latest release: Eremita
Now when it comes to Ishahn: enigmatic is the first word that springs to mind. The man known as Ishahn is a very private person who rarely tours and rarely allows you an insight to his career.
So when he enters the studio you know the final result is going to be worth its weight in gold. Eremita has been just that if I could possibly compare Ishahn and his style it would be to Pink Floyd he is forever creating new sounds and pushing boundaries, He strives for perfection and when he finds it he expands and creates a whole new version, I personally feel the music he writes is a glimpse into his world it’s like looking through a stained glass window, you can see what’s going on but not clearly enough to explain.
From beginning to end Eremita is flawless and somehow truly connects with your soul. Melodies ranging from haunting and depressive to a gentle lullaby and in the mix is of course the raw Black Metal which you could easily say Ishahn is at the forefront, especially when you see the various other bands he has founded over the years.
One of the aspects I adore is the vast array of instruments used, it is beyond a shadow of a doubt mind blowing, the changes that occur happen not only rapidly but with an element of subtleness that it takes a moment for you to catch up but that just increases the pleasure you get from listening to Eremita. I wish I could find something more constructive to write but like I’ve pointed out it’s a far from easy task to sum up If I wrote about every little change, every instrument you would get bored cause you would still be reading this six months later! Personally I fucking love it every second of Eremita is like unwrapping a present but my tip when you get your hands on this album and you will because lets face it if you don’t you will be missing out, is to listen to it loud and solo with nothing else going on around you…. you can thank me later for that free tip.
