Tankard- A Girl Called Cerveza

When I think Of Thrash I think of Beer (as well as other things) when I think of these two things together there is one country that is ahead of the game in both: Germany!
Yes I am talking about the booze fueled German thrashers that can only be Tankard and their latest release A Girl Called Cerveza
“Yesterday I met the women of my dreams” is the first line from the title track, well “I’ve met a thrash album of my dreams, Tankard for me are iconic in thrash as they are completely flawless in their sound and style.
You always know what you are going to unwrap with Tankard: fast, furious, groove laden, full of punch and a little bit cheesy the perfect accompaniment to your keg and A Girl Called Cerveza is no different.
From start to finish A Girl Called Cerveza is filled to the brim with heavy guitar riffs, endless drums and vocals that are famous within thrash. The usual subjects and lyrics that we have all come to love Tankard for are still there without fail and as always coated with a sense of humor, need I say more with titles like “Metal Lady Boy” and “Metal Magnolia” and as with every Tankard album the songs are catchy and sing-a-long worthy.
The guest vocals from DORO are a welcomed treat and what an amazing match “The Metal Lady Boy” is fun tongue in cheek perfect pit anthem I also will admit that Doro and the female vocals that feature Gwar are the only time I’ve considered rethinking my dislike for female vocals in metal
30 years on and Tankard are still one hell of an infectious band. They are the ultimate party thrash, all you need for a successful party is beer and Tankard
