Summary:

Blackwater conspiracy must surely be one of the best bands from Northern Ireland right now. A superb album - highly recommended.

Northern Irish band Blackwater Conspiracy formed from the ashes of two other bands – Swanee river, and Million dollar reload. Based in County Tyrone they’ve already got slots at Download festival and Ramblin’ Man Fair confirmed for this summer ahead of the release of the album.  Listening to the album I think it’s safe to say they’re going to go down a storm.  They released the video for “The Monday club” in June last year – check it out here..

It gives a good idea of what to expect from the album, and there are a couple more videos on youtube to give you more of a taster.  It’s a fantastic album – great rock and roll with a strong Blues element.

Fans of the Quireboys or The Answer should love this album as the sounds of the bands have plenty in common, but Blackwater conspiracy are more lively than the Quireboys with more of a raw sound, and more bluesy than the Answer.  As someone who’s been a fan of the Quireboys for many years, this album has really blown me away and I’d actually rate it better than anything the Quireboys have released.  Blackwater conspiracy must surely be one of the best bands from Northern Ireland right now.

Trying to pick a favourite track is not an easy job when the whole album is of such a high standard with not a single weak track.  I’ll probably opt for “Waiting on Hollywood” or “Penny for your dirty mind”, but as I say there isn’s a single weak track here.

A superb album – highly recommended.

“Shootin’ the breeze” will be released on 28th July 2017 on Bulletproof 20/20 records.

Blackwater conspiracy must surely be one of the best bands from Northern Ireland right now. A superb album - highly recommended.
