Cult of the New Beat – the new single from Norwegian hardcore act Blood Command is out on Fysisk Format today!
“The song is a big middle finger to those who try to tell us what do. A fuck off to the hardcore scene police!” – guitarist and songwriter Yngve Andersen.
The Bergen, Norway based hardcore-act Blood Command has just put the finishing touch to their second full length, entitled Funeral Beach and the release date is set to October 8th.
The album is the follow up to their debut, Ghostclocks, which recieved widespread acclaim upon its release in 2010. Like its predecessor, Funeral Beach will be out on FYSISK FORMAT worldwide.
The album will be packed with Blood Command’s trademark mix of hooligan-hardcore and dancy punk-rhythms, all fronted by the incomparable Silje Tombre, one of the most distinct female voices in rock today.
The Cult of the New Beat single contains two bonus tracks, a remix of the Ghostclocks hit On and On Chameleon, plus a cover of the Nebraska electropunks The Faint’s Agenda Suicide.
“The Faint has been a huge influence on Blood Command, both on our sound and our songwriting. One of their best songs, Agenda Suicide, was recently completely ruined by a disasterous cover version by Cancer Bats – we were so crushed by hearing it that we had to make a new version ourselves to save the song” explains Yngve Andersen.
