The Crawling win Metal 2 The Masses Northern Ireland competition

The CrawlingCounty Antrim death dealers The Crawling have earned their place on the New Blood Stage at this year’s Bloodstock, after winning the tightly fought Northern Ireland leg of the Metal 2 The Masses competition.

The Lisburn-based trio beat off extremely tough competition from Cursed Sun, Drakonis, Scimitar, Sinocence and So Long Until The Seance in a fiercesome finale at Belfast’s Voodoo club last night (Friday 6 May).

With the sweaty smell of victory still lingering in their nostrils, PlanetMosh dragged the lads into the venue’s defunct kitchen for a quick chat about what had brought them to this stage in their career, their enthusiasm for playing the UK’s biggest independent metal fest – and how, despite the overall gloomy outlook of their material, they’d love the opportunity to jam with Dee Snider!

The next Metal 2 The Masses final takes place in Dublin tonight (Saturday 7 May).

Bloodstock takes place at Catton Park in Derbyshire from 11-14 August.  Tickets are still available.
