Summary:

It's not a heavy album but it's one that'll sell millions of copies.

American rock band Daughtry have released four studio albums, had four US number 1 hits and 4 Grammy nominations. They’ve sold over 8 million albums and 16 million singles, as well as selling out concerts around the globe. Their last album, “Baptized” was released in 2013, so it’s been a long wait for the band’s fans, but now the wait is over – their new album “Cage to rattle” is being released this week. They’ve also announced UK tour dates for October (see the end of this review for details).

It’s an album that’s likely to be hugely successful, but like Nickelback, it’s not an album that will see them embraced by the wider rock community as this is very much radio-friendly pop-rock. It’s extremely good, but it does make Nickelback seem like death metal levels of heaviness in comparison.
ok so it’s not heavy and guitar usage varies between songs from a reasonable amount to none noticeable, but it’s still one hell of a good album.

Check out “White flag” from the album..

…and also “Death of me”

They aren’t the heaviest songs on the album but they give a good idea what to expect – an album that is likely to spawn several singles that get heavy airplay on the radio, and millions of sales. It’s not a heavy album but don’t let that put you off checking it out as it’s well worth a listen.
