Diementia – Tears Of Blood

[media-credit id=4727 align=”alignnone” width=”300″][/media-credit]To get straight to the point,Tears Of Blood is one of the heaviest/thrashiest cds i have heard this year.An unsigned band from Glasgow,Diementia have recorded 11 tracks that blew me away on 1st listen .From the opening rush of Corruption to the semi acoustic/thrash  of Where I Belong, Diementia are flying the flag high for British metal. They are currently writing new material and searching for a 2nd guitarist so their future looks very bright. There are no filler tracks here, all display a high level of musicianship. The vocalist’s  style is akin to Dez Fafara but the  delivery makes  the lyrics quite easy to understand which i liked as it gives the listener an insight to the song rather than having to rely on a lyric sheet.Without wishing to make too many comparisons  as Diementia should be reviewed on their own merits, the guitar sound reminded me of Show No Mercy era Slayer which struck a chord with me immediately,no pun intended.Even though  Tears Of Blood clocks in at just under an hour,it does not seem overlong. The title track and Where I Belong clock in at just over 7 minutes but as there is so much going on in them, they do not seem overlong.Standout track on the cd for me is Denied. It deals with the  11 unsuccessful appeals for parole by the infamous American criminal Charles Manson and the track features spoken passages by the man himself which make it a lot more eerie! The title track and Thoughts Of Revenge also feature vocal samples which i think are inspired and some songs have washes of keyboard which show that Diementia are not afraid of diversity.Well, thats about it,11 tracks of molten metal on show here  and i look forward to hearing more from the band in the future as Tears Of Blood was  only a demo project.
