Summary:

An extremely hard hitting, brutal and tight as fuck album. If you love blast beats, amazing guitar tones and belching guttural growls this album is for you.

Embryonic Devourment Reptilian Agenda

Embryonic Devourment hail from the U.S of A and released their third full-length album titled Reptilian Agenda on the 18th of Feb this year, under Deepsend Records.

Interesting title for an album, wondering if the tracks will shed any light on what it means.

Here we go, track one titled Challenging Forms of Hope.

Starts off with an eery strings intro, which instantly sucks me in, only to be smacked in the face with some pulsing blast beats and disquieting chords which set you on edge. Vocals then join the fray and the groove begins! Fucking intense 0.38.

A short change of pace, the layers of complexity to this track is an intense experience.

OOOFFT 2.05, heavy riffs, pinches, more layering. Shit I can’t keep up.

The vocal style is brutal but crisp and compliments the track as a whole allowing for certain aspects to come and go in between and flow over.

Good start!

Masonic Angeldust has a slightly different feel to it. More melodic in places while still maintaining the same level of brutality and intricacy. Enjoying the vocal range and the guitar tone (dare I say slightly Deathy?) very much in this track.

Reptaphiliac is track three. The beginning of this track is still tight but has lost my interest slightly but 48 seconds in, pffft, amazing. Just heard a growl of what could have been ‘rital reptaphiliac’?  and then a rather awesome solo rips in.

Experimental Deformation starts with some cream-able guitar tones wanking each other off (in an evil way of course) pure fucking indulgence.  Very emotive.  Nice use of some echo effects on the guitar later on too.

Suffer the Seas of Gore, is track five, rather nice track title. Offft! The tapping one minute in!

Bloodgift is the last track on the album, which starts off with another unsettling string excerpt and launches into a fast paced rhythm, hearing a few Cryptopsy influences here possibly.

An extremely hard hitting, brutal and tight as fuck album. If you love blast beats, amazing guitar tones and belching guttural growls this album is for you.
