Infernal Creation, pre-Bloodstock festival interview

Infernal Creation are set to infect the New Blood Stage on Friday 10th at this year’s Bloodstock.

We catch up with Neiphrobous to find out more about the band, the festival and what you lucky Bloodstock go-er’s can expect from them!

Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band?

We are Infernal Creation from Hull, we have existed for a number of years now but after a few setbacks and departures from previous members we began fully as we are now and have gone full steam ahead since around 2009.

The members of Infernal Creation are myself, Neiphrobous, on vocals, Bastard on drums, Byleth on Bass and Sin on Guitar. I would say our main influences, musically, are Dissection, Venom and Mayhem amongst others. We started Infernal Creation to explore negativity and spirituality through music.

Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so when and what did you enjoy most about it?
Personally I’m afraid to say that I have never been to Bloodstock. Most years I have wanted to go for years now but haven’t been able to afford to go for one reason or another so I am extremely grateful to Simon Hall and the Bloodstock team for the opportunity they have given us. The guys have made it a point of telling me just how much fun I’ve missed at the previous festivals though.

Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?
The New Blood Line up’s are always great and seem to get bigger and better each year. Through the New Blood Stage Bloodstock have supported and championed underground metal for years and it is this that truly appeals to us and made us wish to be a part of the New Blood Stage.

What was your initial reaction when you found out you where playing on the New Blood Stage?
I was excited as hell, this is a festival that we’ve wanted to be a part of for a long time, the guys were equally ecstatic and we are very proud to say that we will be performing at Bloodstock this year.

What is your opinion of the Bloodstock lineup?
I think there will always be people who moan about one band or another on the bill but with about 115 artists performing this year there are always plenty of others to see. For me the line up this year is brilliant, Bloodstock always manage to outdo themselves and this year we get Mayhem, Watain, Anaal Nathrakh, Eastern Front, Winterfylleth, Dimmu Borgir and countless other great bands.

What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock?
I’m looking forward to being able to perform in front of the rabid Bloodstock masses, to taking the insidious gospel to the New Blood Stage. It will also be great to watch some amazing artists and have a catch up with old friends.

What can the audience expect from you at the festival?
An energetic, passionate and aggressive performance full of black metal and malice. We’ve been putting the finishing touches to our set for the event and it’s going to be an all out assault.

Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence?
Bloodstock is the biggest and most respected festival of its kind in the UK, it brings together international and local artists and supports the true spirit of Metal.

Any message you wish to pass on to the PM readers.
Thank you for the support and we hope to see you all at Bloodstock on Friday the 10th August at the New Blood Stage to raise the horns to the mother of fire.

Thank you for taking the time out to complete this interview, we are looking forward to seeing you at Bloodstock \m/
