Lechlade Festival – QUO support act announced

So how do 3 young women from South Wales become the support act for Status Quo?

All is possible at Lechlade Festival!

Well, firstly, these 3 young women are pretty extraordinary. Playing together in an all-girl rock band called The Kix, Sam, Harriet and Charlotte have been described as “…a powerful tidal wave of awesomeness. Three girls who have a reputation of being able to tame the most raucous of crowds.” – 100% Biker Magazine

Taking their influences from classic rock artists such as AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, their age belies their talent and power! Having supported some big names in the past such as Saxon and Dr Feelgood, it was perhaps inevitable that they should have been selected to support the mighty Quo. Even more exciting that they were hand-picked from a select few acts.

“We still can’t quite believe that we get to support the mighty Status Quo! We’re highly influenced by the classic rock era, and 12 bar blues, so can’t wait to meet them. We’re so excited and really looking forward to performing at the festival” said lead singer, Sam.

Formed by sisters Sam and Charlotte Bolderson, The Kix have grown up with a passion for classic rock and live music and it was a natural move to start playing music together. With the addition of a female bassist, The Kix started as many bands do, gigging locally.  They went on to win various band competitions, and were even selectively invited to perform with the Welsh National Opera in a one-off exclusive show. Invitations to play in Europe led to bigger and better things including headlining at one of the UK’s biggest Motorcycle rally “The Farmyard Party”; a mini rockumentry about the band’s rising success, tipping them to be the next big all girl rock band from the UK.

And now, Lechlade Festival, where they will be supporting rock legends Status Quo on Sunday 24th May!
