Les-Fest 2013 – the final band announcement!

Les Fest May1Dave Richie -And so it comes to pass that we complete the line up in this our 6th announcement for Les-Fest 2013. The final additions take us to 62 live acts over 2 stages. With no clashes on Friday and no clashes after 6pm on Saturday or Sunday.

First up we are delighted to announce the addition of Newcastle based Rock/Metal/Punk act Def Con One. Described by Bloodstock Festival as coming across like a bar fight between Machine Head, Slayer and Pantera these guys are going to be in good company on Saturday evening

Closer to home we are stoked to tell you that Friday’s stage will be graced by fast rising, highly acclaimed Scottish Black Metal act Cnoc An Tursa. “Their debut album The Giants of Auld has been a long time coming and does not disappoint, glorious” Metal Hammer.

Over on stage 2 which has now been christened the Metal Angels Stage, and held in association with Metal Angels for Charities, we bring back a band that blew everyone away in 2012; Holyhead based band, Inferno. Unplugged but mean and moody, we witnessed the lads live recently performing an acoustic set and they proved you don’t need to be amped up to ROCK!

Back to the main stage now and we would like to introduce you to Hell is Harmony, hailing from Dundee these Metal/Hardcore/Rappers offer up a truly unique experience and we can feel the ground bounce already. At the time of writing, in the semi-finals of Bloodstock Metal 2 the Masses, we see a very bright future for these lads.

Jumping back to Stage 2 we are joined by the Dawgheads an acoustic side project of Attica Rage bassist Colin Wilson, expect the unexpected and a few surprises too. Continuing with Stage 2 we are delighted to bring you Josephine Sillars. Influenced by Regina Spektor, Bob Dylan and Nina Simone, Josephine writes quirky, complicated songs about contemporary life. Taking film, television and everyday culture as her inspiration, she weaves songs around Doctor Who, Cult Movies and many other subjects suitable for our Rock Metal crowd.

Following Josephine on the same stage will be Scott Cowie, listening to the likes of John Martyn and Alex Harvey, Scott is a highly accomplished and entertaining acoustic guitar player and yeah a damn fine session drummer to boot – we might just set a kit up on stage. Finally on stage 2 we are joined by Kariss Andrews and her band. Originally booked for the main stage under the name Urban Myth, they had to withdraw but Kariss was determined to keep a slot at this years festival and we are very happy to have her.

So all in all it is shaping up to be an incredible weekend and still for only £35 for the weekend, £45 with camping and £15 for a day ticket. Day tickets will go on sale soon but will be extremely limited.
