Mondo Generator – Belfast, 25 November 2015

PlanetMosh interviews Mondo GeneratorIt’s only a few months since Nick Oliveri was last in these parts, with his ‘Death Acoustic’ solo show.  Now, the eclectic and workaholic frontman is back, this time fronting his Mondo Generator project on a run of dates across Europe.

PlanetMosh availed of the band’s stop-off in Belfast to sit down with Oliveri and guitarist Mike Pygmie (drummer Jeff Bowman, who replaced Hoss Wright earlier this year, was off exploring the delights of the city’s Christmas Market) for a chat.

Our exclusive, and deeply honest, interview starts with Oliveri talking about US bands touring Europe in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris, and the effect of the attack on the Bataclan theatre on Oliveri’s friends in Eagles Of Death Metal.  Oliveri also recalls the speed-fuelled recording of Mondo Generator’s debut album, ‘Cocaine Rodeo’, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and gives us the inside track on their forthcoming new album.  Pygmie also fills us in on the latest details relating to his own project, You Know Who, and their imminent new album.
