Summary:

A great live album from Night Demon

Night Demon released their second album “Darkness remains” and it was a damn good album. Despite being a modern band, their music is very much based in the NWOBHM era. Planetmosh gave it a 4 star review, and they got great reviews around the world. Earlier this year they toured supporting Accept in the UK and Europe for 5 weeks as well as playing a load of their own shows around the world. In short they’ve been busy and as they’re a great live band, they’ve decided to release a live album – a double live album in fact.

Having enjoyed their set supporting Accept, this is an album I was looking forward to – being far longer than a support slot, there’s a lot more here to enjoy, with 23 tracks spread over two CDs. A three-piece, they put in an energetic performance from start to finish – there’s no sign of them running out of energy even toward the end of the show, and the crowd at the Beachland ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio where the show was that forms this album, clearly enjoyed the show.

The sound quality is excellent and with it being a three-piece band then all three instruments are heard distinctly (with a twin guitar 4-piece band then sometimes the two guitars dont stand out from each other). The vocals are great and the playing is spot on – it’s a pretty flawless performance really.

If you’re a fan of NWOBHM bands, you definitely ought to check out Night Demon – “Darkness remains” is a great studio album, and now “Live Darkness” is a great live album.

“Live Darkness” will be released on 10th August 2018 on SPV/Steamhammer.
