The second album of POWER THEORY – “An Axe To Grind” will be released on 29th of June 2012. The will play on this day an gig on the WARRIORS OF METAL FESTIVAL 2012.
It has only been 12 months ago since we re-released the (originally self-titled) debut-album of the US-Heavy/Power Metal-band POWER THEORY with the long title „Out Of The Ashes, Into The Fire… And Other Tales Of Insanity“ after only five months. On that one they proved themselves as a straight band playing rocking Metal with certain Saxon-influences, while the raw vocals reminded more on bands like Metallica or ex-Metal Church-frontman David Wayne.
With „An Axe To Grind“ the second masterpiece of this quartet from Pennsylvania will follow in June. The band improved a lot here and comes over with nine straight-rocking songs with a great recognition value. Classic Metal-riffing and nice twin-leads are combined with thrashy elements. Everything fits perfect to POWER THEORY. Some highlights on the record are „Pure Steel“ with its mid-tempo groove, the great title track, the pounding „The Seer (In Dreams)“ as well as the speedy „Edge Of Knives“. A great, pounding production makes this album a classic. The warrior cover is a picture painted by Eliran Kantor, who also painted the covers of legends like Sodom („In War And Pieces“) and Testament („The Formation Of Damnation“).
This is high-class Heavy Metal from the USA: Definitely a reason to buy this one!
