Summary:

Up today I have L.A based The Edge of Paradise’s album Immortal Waltz, follow up to 2013 EP Perfect Shade Of Black; since being formed in 2011 by vocalists Margarita Monet and Guitarist Dave Bates, they have been working hard and carving their name into the Rock scene. There is something quirky and brilliant about this album, every track is so different and really feels like it’s telling you a story, which really makes this album very captivating. Another big factor in what make them refreshingly original is the vocal talents of Margarita Monet, with a killer range and unique tone.

I have been really lucky this year get some fantastic albums to review and Immortal Waltz fits right into my favourite category of music; which is that it doesn’t fit in any set category.  I love every artist out there that dares to be different and create something that isn’t easy to define, and this album is exactly that.  I love that it isn’t predictable; each track is a stand-alone gem that combined makes a brilliantly fun album.  First track It’s My Show has got a killer grove to it and draws you in to the world of The Edge of Paradise, following into title track Immortal Waltz; this is one of my favourite tracks on the album; there is just something so eerie and captivating about it.

Another highlight for me is Perfect Shade Of Black, kicking off with a killer bass-line from Nick Ericson leading into a powerful vocal display from Margarita.  Having worked hard touring USA I really hope they make that step soon to venturing over to Europe; I hope I get the chance to see them perform soon.  Great release and gets 4 stars from me!
