Rocksmith at W:O:A 2012!!!
Did all the previous guitar-simulations felt a little bit boring to you? Do you search for a real guitar game challenge? Then try out Rocksmith!
For the first time video game producer Ubisoft will be at Wacken presenting its new authentic guitar game Rocksmith. It is the first games console and pc game ever which supports real guitars and gives bassists and guitarist the possibility to learn real rock songs with fun and motivation.

After the big success in the United States the rock phenomenon will be continued on the other side of the big pond. The Rocksmith-bus tours through the European stations of Rock Festivals and gives the audience the possibility to test the game extensively – be it with real guitar challenges or other exciting actions. With Rocksmith Gamers can learn to play a real guitar in an innovative, efficient and authentic way. The game will be released on the 11th of October 2012 for Xbox360 and PlayStation3 and later for Windows PC. It will also include a bass-guitar feature.
With Rocksmith you´ll get a selection of songs which can be played on different difficulties. The game works with every available e-guitar (it doesn´t matter from which producer).
But don´t worry – you do not need to take your own guitar to the festival – you will get all necessary equipment directly on spot!

The new W:O:A travel tool is online!
The festival is coming closer and many of you are already arranging their travel to the W:O:A. The count of information and possibilities regarding the travel adds up every year, so we decided to rework all topics and to focus them at one new portal with new features.
This new “W:O:A travel portal” gives you all the information about traveling by bus, train, plane or automobile. Also the arrival on site with the topics festival area, parking, kiss & ride, camping and hotels is handled here. (A detailed list of facts can be found below)
The Special Feature:
By entering your hometown into the search box of the integrated route planner you will get a list with all travel options like for example: Points of departure of our travel partners next to your hometown (regardless of whether bus or train) as well as links to our partner companies including their ticket reservations. That applies also companies from foreign countries – Everything at a glance!!!
Certainly it all works like a normal route planner which calculates the route by car. The added satellite map (google.maps) gives you a geographical overview about nearby offered bus or train trips like the Metal Train or Metal Travel. One click at one of the marked towns or places leads you to a list of bus and train companies which offer a ride to the festival.
All listed options will also contain the calculated CO² emissions of the travel to the festival for the respective vehicle.
In addition the detailed view of the map shows you the camping sites, parking spaces, kiss & ride places, the festival area with all important infrastructural facilities like shower camps, supermarkets, garbage bases and also all main features on site.
Also a long-range selection of hotels in and around Wacken and several external campsites are listed here.
Following a short summary of all the facts for you:
- a route planner with automatic generation of all possible travel options in direct near of the point of interest
- list of all official partner companies (including the departure points) which offer travels (including tickets if available) to the W:O:A

Safe deposit boxes at WOA 2012
We are providing safe deposit boxes at this year’s Wacken Open Air for all your valuables.
The location of the Lockertruck will be near the wristband exchange at the Wacken Plaza. (POS 27 – Holy Wacken Land Plan)
You can rent your save deposit boxes on-site.
There are 840 boxes in total: 180XL and 660M-sized boxes.
Size details of the safe deposit boxes:
Big Box(XL): width: 35cm; height: 31cm; depth: 35cm
Small Box(M): width: 17cm; height: 18cm; depth: 18cm
Prices:
1 Big Box(XL): 5€/Day
1 Small Box(M): 3€/Day

Police co-operation regarding pickpocketing 2012
Also in this year we will grant you support in case of pick pocketing.
In co-operation with the police of Wacken/Schenefeld we have created a new flyer with behavioral measures in case of pick pocketing as well as several hotlines for canceling credit cards.
Additionally our well known Safe-deposit trucks will be again on the festival grounds. For a small obolus you can keep your personal valuables safe there.
