Summary:

If you like something a bit out of the ordinary then this is definitely well worth a listen.

Italian band Secret Rule are a fairly new band, only forming at the start of 2014, but little more than a year later, they’re already releasing their debut album – Transposed emotions.  In addition to writing and recording an album in little more than a year after forming, they’ve also released videos for three songs from the album.

It’s an album that defies convention with the mix of musical styles it includes.  There’s a strong Prog rock element, but there’s also gothic metal, power metal, even pop.  As well as the strong guitar-driven core of the music there are keyboard heavy sections, and acoustic guitar sections.  It’s a mix that could easily have failed to work but somehow Secret Rule manage to pull it off, and the result is a very good album.

If you like something a bit out of the ordinary then this is definitely well worth a listen.

“Transposed emotions” is out now on Rocksector records.
