Summary:

For a debut EP this really is a fantastic release and after listening to it then expectations are certainly high for their debut album.

Leicester band Seven Hells formed in late 2016. They’ve been working hard since then and recently released their debut EP, Prologue, and have plans to release their debut album in 2019. They won the Leicester final of the Metal 2 the masses competition and as a result played Bloodstock festival in August where they gave us a copy of their EP to listen to. They are also due to play the HRH Metal festival early next year.

Right from the start of the EP you know two things – it’s going to be loud, and it’s going to be heavy. Opening track, “Resist” kicks off with screaming guitars and a heavy drum beat and those are soon joined by the snarling vocals. It’s heavy as fuck and a damn good start to the EP.
“Broken bones” starts off quite gently before the crushing guitar riffs and snarling vocals kick in and you’ve got a great thrashy song.
“We will rise” comes next and again is another great heavy song with plenty of pace and energy.
Finally, “The prophet” slows the pace slightly but is still a damn heavy track and it’s a great song to end the EP with.

For a debut EP this really is a fantastic release and after listening to it then expectations are certainly high for their debut album. If you like your metal heavy as fuck then check out Seven Hells.
