Summary:

Sky woin't fall Iis a fantastic album and I'd certainly recommend it without hesitation.

Stevie Nimmo will release his second solo album on 4th March.  His debut solo album was the acoustic “The wynds of life” which came out in 2010.  Why the 6 year gap?  Well as some of you will know, Stevie Nimmo hasn’t been taking it easy in those six years and has spent his time writing, recording and touring as one half of the Nimmo Brothers including releasing several albums.

The album starts with the sound of an amp or monitor being turned on followed by a burst of static which leads into a screaming guitar with feedback before bang, the song starts with a great powerful riff.  “Chains of hope” is a great start to the album – powerful riffs and great vocals.  It’s followed by another great blues-rock number, “Roll the dice again”.

“Still hungry” is another superb track – it’s a nice pwoerful blues-rock number with hints of Led Zeppelin.

It’s not all that heavy though – “I’ll pray for you” for instance sees some smoother vocals and a softer sound to the music.  While the vocals do draw the attention the guitar playing is beautiful too.  Another softer track is “Change” with the same smooth vocals but with a funk influence to the music.

So, great songs, great vocals and great guitar playing – what more could you ask for?

It’s a fantastic album and I’d certainly recommend it without hesitation.

“Sky won’t fall” will be released on 4th March 2016
