In celebration of their latest album Songs For The Broken Ones , The Eden House play their first UK shows in four years this November:

The Eden House Tour dates are

16th – Glasgow – Audio
17th – Manchester – Academy 3
18th – Leeds – Trinity Church

The Eden House are a musical collective who’ve collaborated with a wide variety of vocalists and musicians and have released three albums and two mini-albums.

On their new full-length album, Songs For The Broken Ones they’ve worked with Monica Richards on much of the album.  An eco-activist veteran of the DC punk scene and sometime Conflict member, she is most known in Europe and the US as half of Faith & The Muse.

Other lead vocalists featured are Lee Douglas of Anathema, Louise Crane, Meg Pettitt and Kelli Ali of Sneaker Pimps.  Musicians include Bob Loveday of Penguin Café Orchestra & Van Morrison and Simon Hinkler of The Mission.

The Eden House are built around the core duo of guitarist Stephen Carey and bassist Tony Pettitt of Fields of the Nephilim together with drummer Simon Rippin of The Nephilim.

Here’s a little taster of what you can expect from the forthcoming shows. This was one of several songs recorded live in the studio when Monica Richards was visiting the UK earlier in the year

They embellish their music with lush layers of violin and diverse female vocals, leading them to be described on Wikipedia as ethereal wave.  Without betraying their goth-rock roots, The Eden House expand their horizons working with top musicians from the prog-rock and trip-hop worlds to create their unique fusion sound.

Formed in 2009 they’ve previously attracted calibre collaborators such as Julianne Regan of All About EveAmandine Ferrari, Evi Vine, Pink Floyd’s sound engineer Andy Jackson and Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music.  They’ve toured and headlined festivals in the UK, Germany, Belgium and Poland.

About Louise Swift

I first went to a gig in 1981, Gillan at Leeds University. I've been a regular gig goer ever since. I haven't kept count of how many gigs I've been to over the intervening years, but it's a lot! My favourite bands are AC/DC then, in no particular order, Anti-Nowhere League, Slaughter and the Dogs, Towers of London and Dirt Box Disco. I tend to like Glam/Punk and rude offensive lyrics, not sure what that says about me but as Animal would say 'So What!' The question was recently put to me - did I write for any online publications? My reply - No, but I'd like to! Planetmosh was suggested and I found myself offering to review Aces High Festival. Easy peasy I thought! Well not quite, if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well! I had sixteen bands to research. I found I actually enjoyed that and it kept me too busy to be making lunatic comments on Facebook! ;) Then I felt a bit inadequately qualified. I mean, who am I to comment on others, when my musical expertise extends to being able to play a mean Greensleeves on the recorder and a passable Annie's song on the flute! Haven't picked up either instrument for years! What I do have, however, is over 30 years of experience as a gig goer, so I can comment on what I like and what I don't! It's only my opinion and, if I don't like a band it doesn't mean they are bad, just not to my own liking. I admire anyone who has the guts to get up on that stage and have a go!
