The Sticky Boys – This is Rock’n’roll

The Sticky Boys are a French rock band that was formed in 2008 when when Tom (drums) and Alex ( guitar/ vocals) decided to put an end to all their ongoing musical projects and to give France something that has been lacking for a long time – a genuine rock n’ roll band.  They’ve supported bands including The Donnas and Nashville Pussy, and also played live in an advert for SNCF (the French national train company). Following the advert which gained them lots of new fans, they played a load of shows including an appearance at Hellfest 2011.  After that they headed into the recording studio to record their album – This is rock ‘n’ roll.

So what are the band like musically?  Well the answer to that is pretty damn good.  Imagine Airbourne – but from France – that pretty much sums up their music.  It’s got that same heavy guitar driven sound and great catchy riffs mixed in with a great party feeling.  A lot of the tunes and riffs would feel at home on an Airbourne album – that’s how good this album is.  The album is slightly heavier feeling than Airbourne but not by much.  Vocally they’re slightly deeper and rougher but just as good.

If you’re a fan of ACDC and Airbourne then The Sticky Boys are definitely a band for you.  A great album.

This is Rock’n’Roll will be released on 16th April via Listenable records.
