Unbridled Sheffield quintet drop their enticing self-titled debut EP to the nation on Monday 22nd October 2012, available through digital stores.
Drawing comparisons to the likes of Asking Alexandria, A Day To Remember, and Bullet For My Valentine, Fates Upon Us spring from the traps with fiery fretwork, multi-textured structures, and raw intensity. The newly-formed Northern scamps are quickly moving through the gears and picking up speed, as they launch out of the underground and aim for the jugular of the UK scene, loaded with their brand new EP.
Born in Sheffield (aka Steel City), Fates Upon Us were formed in the summer of 2011 and soon made their mark on the local metal Sheffield scene by playing a cluster of successful support slots throughout the area. The fast-moving five-piece then kicked on with a flurry of further shows throughout the region while beginning work on their debut EP.
The noise nuts are now set to amp up the pace with the anticipated release of their debut self-titled EP. Tipping their caps to such bands as A Day to Remember and Killswitch Engage, Fates Upon Us throw down an intriguingly twisted take on metalcore, serving up five cuts of ferocious metal merged with tinges of infectious punk; in doing so, they have sculpted a record brimming with ball-busting power, intensity, and real potential.
From the blistering opening of ‘Don’t Hate The Player, Hate The Game’ and the stomping full-throttle beatings of ‘Have Fun Storming The Castle’, to the dynamic ‘Boys, We’ve Struck Gold’, Fates Upon Us have created a killer debut release that warrants your attention. The UK metallers also hit the road this Autumn with Bedford post-hardcore outfit ‘Gold Skies Ahead’; hit up the band’s Facebook for updates.
