Summary:

It's a very good album. It's not necessarily going to stand out against some of the competition, but despite that it's an album that's definitely well worth a listen - preferably nice and loud while enjoying a beer or two.

Argentinian band 42 Decibel have just released their 3rd album, Overloaded. Despite being Argentinian, their musical influences hail from elsewhere in the southern hemisphere – Australia, with ACDC and Rose Tattoo being two being influences on their sound. There are other influences – drummer and founding member Nicko Cambiasso also lists ZZ Top, Creedence clearwater revival, Rolling stones, Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd among the bands the members of 42 Decibel all enjoy.

42 Decibel is an odd name for a band like this – 142 decibel might be more appropriate since 42 Decibels is pretty quiet whereas this music is anything but – it’s good simple rock music that should be played LOUD.

The ACDC sound comes across in the vocals – Junior Figueroa definitely has a voice that reminds me of Bon Scott. Muisc-wise the ACDC influence is less obvious as their sound is influenced by a range of bands, but it does have that same simple good-time rock’n’roll sound.

It’s a very good album. It’s not necessarily going to stand out against some of the competition, but despite that it’s an album that’s definitely well worth a listen – preferably nice and loud while enjoying a beer or two.
