On a bitter sweet night in Bathgate near Edinburgh, I saw a band who I not only had the pleasure of sharing the stage with at times but also count as mates of mine in the metal scene up here, call time on a career that’s been on the go for just five years.
So what, some of you may say. Local bands come and go, they aren’t good enough, they don’t have enough quality, blah, blah, blah. Well, when a band have had a bona fide seal of approval from one of the UK’s most prominent metal performers in Blaze Bayley, you expect great things lie in wait for them.
Sadly, and to me personally anyway, thanks to a scene that gets nowhere near the visibility or credibility it deserves here in Scotland, I spoke with the guys in Dirty Rose as they prepared to take to the stage for one final time before calling it a day.
Dirty Rose are:
Alan Clarkson – Bass/vocals
Craig Murray – Guitar
Steve Morrison – Drums
