Nuclear Blast conducted an interview with Orchid’s vocalist Theo Mindell about influences, their new album ‘The Mouths Of Madness’ and what their plans are.
You’ve recently released your new album ‘The Mouths Of Madness’ on Nuclear Blast Records, tell me what this album represents?
What is the writing process like for Orchid?
You had Richard Whittaker (Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy) master the album, what was it like to have Richard on board to get that final mix?
Orchid has a very psychedelic sound which obviously takes a lot of influence from the 60’s and 70’s era, who are you most important influences from those eras?
Would you say coming from San Francisco has also influenced your sound?
Have you heard the new Black Sabbath song “God Is Dead”? If so what are your thoughts?
What are the plans for the rest of 2013?
‘The Mouths of Madness’ is available now via Nuclear Blast.
