Summary:

Scream Maker's Livin' In The Past reviewed briefly at @PlanetMosh.

Scream Maker-Livin-in-the PastAppropriately titled, Livin’ In The Past by Poland’s Scream Maker is the band’s war cry and answer to the genre of power metal. With the help of star producer Alessandro Del Vecchio, they’ve nailed it: versatile, nicely ranged, fairly operatic, and genre-appropriate vocals matched to staccato archetypal guitar riffs, supported by competent, well-performed bass guitar and drum lines. Fairly unassuming and relaxed, the music isn’t packed to the hilt with what seem to be the genre’s defining success moments: shred guitar wizardry and testosterone. They’ve got the melodic, anthemic, European aspect of their chosen genre pegged. Fans will be able to hear hints of, or nods to, bands from Iron Maiden, Manowar, Judas Priest, Rainbow to 80s hair metal icons like Dokken. This is a 12-song debut from a band formed in 2010, so, given some time and some tour experience, the band may find themselves risen through the ranks.
