The King Lot are a three piece Hard Rock and Roll band from West Lothian, Scotland who I have never heard much about until now! The band members have been friends for many years, and have written and recorded in various bands and projects together as well as achieving commercial and cult success separately. The band have grafted and toured, plying their trade with the best of them, and more recently supported bands such as The Answer and Beasto Blanco in Scotland earlier this year. The King Lot spent time in 2013 writing and putting material together to record their debut album due for release in the very near future.
I listened to their debut single “Until My Dying Day” and I must say I was mightily impressed. It did take a few listens to let it sink in but one thing is certain The King Lot do know how to Rock. With a sound that clearly is influenced by some of the big hard rock bands from the eighties and early nineties. Judging by this first offering from the album, The King Lot could theoretically be the love child of Bon Jovi and Guns & Roses. Mixed with gritty, gravelly vocals and some nice melodic guitar work this seems to be a gentle opening offer from the band and whets the appetite to hear what else their debut album has in store for us, which is released in the spring very soon.
