Kin Beneath Chorus are the Greek winners of this years Wacken Metal Battle. They play at Wacken along with all the other Metal Battle winners from all over the world to compete for the Over All Metal Battle Champion!
Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band.
We were formed back in 2010 in Greece, Thessaloniki. Our music is a combination of death metal and hardcore filtered with modern sound and attitude.
So far, we have released one demo called “Nothing is Sacred” (2011) and a full length album called “Futuristic.Composed” (2013). We have also released one lyric video of the track “Greetings Atrocity” that can be found in “Futuristic.Composed”. Straight from our album also comes our first official video clip “Beyond the Dynamic”. Last but not least, at June 1, 2014 we released our new single called “Session XII”
How would you describe your sound.
We would describe it as aggressive but still melodic and modern.
How would you describe the metal music scene in your country. What has changed over the last few years?
The largest change is that the bands are fewer nowadays. This is not necessarily bad because the level of the bands that are still playing is much, much higher.
Why did you enter the WOA Metal Battle Competition.
Because the idea of playing there was always a dream to us. We worked really hard to achieve this and we can’t wait to get on stage !
What was your initial reaction when you found out that you have won & you were playing at Wacken.
We screamedalike young girl in a Bieber concert. hahahahahaha!
What was the best and worst part of the competition for you.
The best is of course that we won the Greek finals.
The worst is that it was a competition.
Would you recommend the competition to other bands. Any hints/tips for bands that are looking to enter?
For us it was a great experience, so yes, we strongly recommend it. The only hint/tip that we could give is to work hard and practice and of course play with your heart.
What can the audience expect from you at the festival.
The truth is that our expectation and excitement to perform at Wacken is huge…So the audience can expect a show full of passion.
What has been the bands biggest achievement so far.
Our biggest achievement so far are a Greek Tour, supporting bands like Caliban, Stick to Your Guns and Suicidal Angels and of course the one and only, Wacken Open Air !!
Have you ever been to Wacken before. If so when and what did you enjoy most about it?
We never had the chance to be there so this is a first time experience for us.
Everyone that has been there though, told as that Wacken is fucking epic.
What is your opinion of the Wacken line-up.
The line up is huge and insane!! We can’t wait to see almost every band live !!
