Summary:

A good album full of emotional songs that is worthy of a place in your music collection, and maybe, just maybe a classic album of the future?

Heavy metal yes, but i’m hearing something here that just got the hair on the back of my neck tingling! Just occasionally a song or an album comes from out of nowhere and kinda grabs you. Some folks call them “A cult “. In other words it’s an album that only a few folks get, or feel a connection with, making it a cult item. So, if I said “B.O.C. as an example, would this mean anything to you? No? Ok, how about ‘Blue Oyster Cult’ then? Their 1976 album ‘Agents Of Fortune’ was given this label by the press. Now we have this sixth full album (nine in total) release by a truly seasoned group of guys who have produced an album I think is also worthy of being given this prestigious title.

Isolate And Medicate, has the feeling of being taken right back to the groups naked flesh beginnings and then rebuilt to bring you an album that has more highs and lows than a pant twisting roller coaster. The whole content seems to have been thoughtfully put together over a long period. Shaun Morgan actually built himself a room dedicated as being somewhere he could sit alone and write his lyrics. In Shaun’s own words,    “After getting off the road, it was a process of preparation to get the environment just right. I made a place that I felt comfortable and creative in. I was able to be safe and isolated, concentrating on writing music instead of dealing with the distractions that come with daily life.”  This process of being “isolated” might appear a little strange! But it’s obvious that this now seems to have worked for him and the group!
