Brighton based band, Bad for Lazarus, have a lineup that includes former members of bands including The eighties matchbox B-line disaster, Unkle and Nine inch nails, so you probably expect these different musical backgrounds to lead to an interesting combination, and you aren’t going to be disappointed.
I’m not sure how to describe this album other than to call it Musical Anarchy. There are so many different sounds and influences mixed together that it really does defy categorising. It’s a crazy mix of sounds, but somehow it just works. The best way to get an idea of how they sound is to watch the video below….
The vocals are quite high pitched, which is something that doesn’t normally appeal to me, but here alongside the fuzzy guitar sound, keyboards and as part of this musical madness it just seems the right choice for the vocals. This is an album that is strangely addictive – you won’t just play the album once, you’ll still be listening to it hours after you hit play.
Watch the videos and hera for yourself what Bad for Lazarus sound like – I think you’ll enjoy it.
