Summary:

"This is a very provocative and self asserting album and well worth the four years it took to produce. If you listen properly it takes you within your thoughts and makes you question them."

The Osiris Club launched on 1st January 2010 in London and have spent four years on this recently released album, ‘Blazing World’.

Osiris Club artworkThis band has a psychedelic/ prog rock mix with a bit of a difference.  Yes, it is a concept album, and, yes, the songs have an underlying story running through them, but there is a bit more to their style. If anything, it has the same effect as a John Carpenter soundtrack as, as I’m listening to this, I have flashes of vampires running through my head.

This album has a very hypnotic drum beat running throughout, especially on the track ‘The Bell’s’ when Andrew(Angel Witch) Prestidge, a master of his instrument, incorporates the human heart beat as the backdrop to a song about not living.

Not being a big fan of synths myself, I have to say that with the guitars on this album being kept quite soft and alluring and mixed throughout with passionate strings to embellish and fill their sound, I find myself slowly drawn into this album: it is a definite grower.  ‘Undoing Wrong’ has a very dark mysterious message that relays depression and despair – but again the drum beat plays a big part in bringing the listener to a place where they can feel hope.  ‘Sieze Decay’,  a title that detracts for the message, is all about a person questioning themselves and what they believe, and very cleverly asks the listener to turn around and ask themselves “Won’t you wait?”.

This is a very provocative and self asserting album and well worth the four years it took to produce. If you listen properly it takes you within your thoughts and makes you question them.
