US superstars Night Ranger made a triumphant return to the UK this past weekend, with a sell out show in London followed by a sensational headline appearance at the HRH AOR festival in Pwllheli – the first time the band had played more than one gig on British soil on the same visit.
Before the latter show, PlanetMosh was privileged to able to catch up with one of the three founding members of Night Ranger, drummer and vocalist Kelly Keagy, for a quick chat about the band, their return to the UK, why they have decided to include cover versions in their set, future plans – including the possibility of a full UK tour in 2016 – returning to their roots in terms of their recording techniques, the resurgence of interest in rock music and his favourite Night Ranger songs.
Later that evening, Night Ranger played a set which came in at just shy of two hours – something very few bands do at festivals – and left the audience clamouring for more. You can read our full review later in the week.
