The Vintage Caravan’s Óskar introduces us to new drummer Stefán

Icelandic classic rock trio THE VINTAGE CARAVAN released their new album Arrival yesterday and in celebration, we spoke to Stefán and Óskar about how the new line up came about (‘it was like going on a date and seeing the girl kiss the other guy goodbye’), classic rock influences and what the guys think when someone questions their age in relation to the music that they write and listen to.

THE VINTAGE CARAVAN recorded the follow-up to 2014’s critically acclaimed Voyage in an isolated fjord where they set up a studio in an old ballroom. The band enlisted the help of producer Axel ‘Flexi’ Árnason, who worked with them on their last album. The psychedelic artwork for the forthcoming release was created by renowned American artist David Paul Seymour (CLUTCH, GRAVEYARD, BLUES PILLS, EARTHLESS ETC). The band commented on their latest cosmic offering: “We are so excited for the release of the upcoming album. It’s definitely a step forward for us musically and we are incredibly happy with how natural the recording process was and how well all of the songs turned out. Get ready for Arrival!”
