Hordes Of Belial Announce Lifer and Others for 2016
On October the 1st (a change from the usual last Saturday in September), the Beat Generator Live! venue, which has played host to Hordes since its early days, will be yet again invaded by a host of rising talent from around the UK.Dundee’s annual, underground, metal and hard rock showcase, Hordes Of Belial, is back for its seventh year with 7 & Hell, and has just announced its first four confirmed acts.
From Glasgow, Scotland’s second capital, Seraph Sin and Blood Thread represent two very different sides of the face of metal. Where Seraph Sin bring the hard edge of industrial, drawing on the influence of such names as Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, Blood Thread are an altogether more deathly affair, channelling the power of Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel. As if this didn’t cast a wide enough net across the extreme music spectrum, this year will also see the Hordes debut of local Machine Head worshipping metallers, Excellent Cadaver, who are long overdue an appearance at the event. The hard work they have put in over the last year will also see them join the bill at Wildfire Festival, and likely more high profile shows.
The biggest addition, however, is probably that of Welsh stoner-groove metal band, Lifer. Sneaking under the radar, their second long-player, Black Mountain Rising, has been warmly received, none-the-less; 4/5 at Metaltalk, 9/10 at Toxic Online, 10/10 at Maximum Volume Music, and described by Valkyrian Music as ‘hugely enjoyable, and stacked with groove and attitude’. Although Critical Events were the first to bring fellow countrymen, Hecate Enthroned, to Scotland in 2014, this will be the first time a band from Wales has been selected for the Hordes Of Belial event, so you know this is a top quality act!
Hordes Of Belial – 7 & Hell will take place Saturday October 1st 2016, at Beat Generator Live, North Lindsay St., Dundee. Advance tickets will be available soon fromwww.wegottickets.com.
