Summary:

Overall this album provides the fans with a truly enticing sound throughout with the projection of light and darkness within the vocals

Ladies and gentleman it is time for the second album release ‘Arakhne’ from the enchanting Enemy of Reality and it is a killer of an album for all you Greek mythology and arachnid fans. The title of the album ‘Arakhne’ gives the fans a glimpse into the web of music we are about to be trapped in as it is based on the myth of the spiders creation, a skilled weaver who ran afoul of the gods leading to her transformation into a spider.

‘Martyr’ is the opening track for the album creating the atmospheric tones for what is about to come. The chanting, whispering and leading vocals give the impression of being lead into a realm of the unknown and undiscovered setting the mood perfectly for ‘Reflected’.

We are thrown straight into what feels like a battleground with the fast paced drum beat and beautifully controlled vocals of the larger than life Iliana which does not falter throughout this entire track. During what feels like a beautiful battle between light and darkness portrayed by the talented vocals of the powerful Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of fire).

We are nicely lead into ‘Weakness lies within’ which again highlights the control and power bound within the beautiful Iliana and a guitar solo by the very talented Steelianos cementing the fact that this is an album which is different yet still remains true to the tones of Enemy of Reality as a whole. From this powerful piece we are taken into another atmospheric track which combines the darkness with the light in a rather different manner.

Welcome to the entwining sound of ‘Time Immemorial’, my personal favorite track from the album, with the combination of clean vocals with growls throughout it truly takes you on a journey through the spiders web trapping you and keeping your ears thoroughly entertained with yet another intense guitar solo and break down with some beautiful bass lines from the thunderous beast that is Thanos.

Overall this album provides the fans with a truly enticing sound throughout with the projection of light and darkness within the vocals, creating yet another wondrous journey throughout the ages of mythology. An album I would highly recommend to all.
