MACCLESFIELD POWER-DUO The Virginmary’s release their new single/video for The Meds today.
This is the first release for Ally Dickaty and Danny Dolan as a duo.
The video for ‘The Meds’ is akin to Stephen King’s ‘ Misery’ but the overzealous main character Annie Atkins is replaced with a bottle of ‘The Meds’. As the story unfolds to tell about the harsh reality of trying to survive the daily grind of life. We see Ally’s character beaten into submission by his ‘meds’: Read the instructions, follow the directions of life, use just the right amount ”To Shut Down The Mind, Open Your Mouth” to cause depression, anxiety, sickness, confusion.
The Meds is a great track the band has chosen to showcase their partnership as a duo. The rhythmic guitar and post Apocalyptic drum beat pulls you into their postpunk anthemic pop vibe.
