Belgian extreme metalers Resistance formed in early 2004. Initially starting of as a hardcore band they turned into the full on Death Metal beast it is today as a result of several lineup changes.
After years of playing shows and building up their name in Belgium and France, Resistance released their debut album “Trauma” in 2006 to an unsuspecting public.
The rest, as they say, is history.
“To Judge and Enslave” is the forth album to date from Resistance, and demonstrates a return to form with brutal track after brutal track beating you into submission with a barrage of hardcore metal beatdowns combined with grindcore style vocals that is guaranteed to leave even the most hardened of extreme metalheads grinning from ear to ear.
Opening track “The Descent” is an instrumental leading you down into a dark, forbidding underworld, before “Make Belief Savior” commences with the spoken audio clip “I am the Devil and I am here to do the Devils work” which then kicks the album into full flow with a barrage of crushing beatdowns and guttural vocals being the order of business.
Fifth track “E.n.s.l.a.v.e.d.” enlists the help of Dew Scented’s front-man Leif Jensen which adds an extra depth to the feel of the vocals.
The Highlight of the album: “Pointless Desire” with its early Sepultura sounds closely followed by the darkness of “Traitor”.
