Leaf Band UK, recommended to me by a friend, Julian Lloyd who saw the Stoke-On -Trent quartet recently at the Underground in Stoke, return with a recently released single, ‘Get Back On My Feet Again’. Pronouncing themselves as “A real rock band – No backing tracks allowed!”. Forming in 1992, they dish out hard, melodic grunge.
The single is a lumbering monolith of a song, to make it a real speaker rattler, but still has touches of melody, courtesy of a poignant lead vocal. Grooves ebb and flow around a tight rhythm section towards a grinding midsection that ups the heaviness ante, closing manically on a full band bluster, job done and dusted in three thrilling minutes!
