Sometimes I need to step away from all the rock bombast and immerse myself in a more laid back genre to soothe the soul, so step up Everette, releasing their ‘Keys To Kentucky’ single, taken from a forthcoming, independently released EP in June of the same name.
The single is a real deal of country tinged blues, a beautiful song all wrapped up in three minutes of sublime, gently picked guitar chords and a heartbreaking vocal that won’t leave your soul for sometime.
The versatile country roots and rock ‘n’ roll duo wrote the song to serve both a heartfelt tribute to their own state, and a reflection on lost love. Crafting this song was a pivotal moment of inspiration for the duo, motivating them to recording the EP for a June release, epitomizing the duo’s stripped back, back to basics approach, honed through their extensive live touring experience.
They describe the single as “Keys To Kentucky” is a subtle, unassuming letter of hope to the one that got away. Loving someone enough to let them go find themselves out in the World, while also letting them know the door is always open for them to come back.”
