Blues songstress Elles Bailey releases ‘If This Is Love’, third track taken from her forthcoming studio album released on August 9th on Cooking Vinyl Records, Beneath The Iron Glow.
To my ears it’s a shout it out loud and proud song as she writes wrongs through the power of music, rising to the challenge majestically on big, fat guitar riffs. Her vocals perfectly capture the songs subject, backed by her boisterous backing band that provides thunderous drums, prominent keyboards and sugar sweet backing vocals, especially during the explosive choruses.
It’s her angry song, saying “This song is written about someone who trampled all over my heart and I totally lost who I was in that relationship. And if I’m being honest, I never actually walked away, so I decided to re-write that story, fourteen years later, and this time, I am the one who walk away!”
