Since their formation in late 2009, Deprevate have played shows with the likes of Skindred, Evile, esOterica, Exit Ten, at venues across the UK such as the Camden Barfly, Purple Turtle and many more. As well as racking up appearances at Sonisphere UK (acoustic secret set by Rich) and Hard Rock Hell Ibiza Road Trip.
In August last year the band entered the studio with UK producer Matt Hyde (Slipknot, Fightstar, Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral for a Friend, Gallows, Machine Head, Ash, Trivium and more) to lay down their eagerly anticipated 5 track EP.
Having been keeping a steady eye on the band since I first discovered them on the sun drenched party paradise island of Ibiza I was pleasantly interested in seeing how the band I had seen all that time ago has developed.
Open track “Element of Truth” demonstrates a new found level of maturity for this still young band. Opening with a catchy guitar/lyric combination the song sets the standard for this highly polished e.p.
Following on at is the anthem “The Last Time” with its machine gun like drum beats opening the track coupled with a stunning guitar solo
“Your Paranoia” slows the pace down with it’s almost ballad like start, before “Open your eyes” picks the pace up and returns things to full working order.
Overall the future looks very promising for this fledgling band and I look forward to seeing how they continue to develop.
Highlight of the e.p: “Element of The Truth”;
