Merciless Fail is set to wreck the New Blood Stage on Saturday 11th at this year’s Bloodstock.
We catch up with the band to find out more about them, the festival and what you lucky Bloodstock go-er’s will see!
Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band?
Stoz Storozynski – Vocals, Rob Chappers – Guitar, Andy Songhurst – Guitar, Kieron Rochester – Bass and Vocals, Kevin Rochester – Drums. The name of our band is Merciless Fail, we began in 2009 and we play a unique mix of heavy metal which combines the styles of classic metal bands such as Maiden and Priest along with modern aggressive elements similar to the styles of Pantera and Machine Head. We decided to form the band as we felt that our style of music really was something a bit different and we felt like we had to get it out there.
Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so when and what did you enjoy most about it?
No, this will be the first time for all of us.
Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?
The New Blood stage is the perfect way to get our music to a wider audience. Bloodstock has an immense reputation and being part of the line up really offers us some incredible exposure to some true heavy metal fans.
What was your initial reaction when you found out you where playing on the New Blood Stage?
There was a mix of feelings when we found out we were playing. We were absolutely thrilled as playing Bloodstock has been one of our main aims ever since we first entered the metal to the masses competition in 2009. We were extremely proud as there was some stiff competition in our heats and to have won metal to the masses was a great honour. Finally there was an acknowledgement that we’d have to work harder than ever if we’re going to make the most of Bloodstock and hopefully progress even further.
What is your opinion of the Bloodstock lineup?
It’s insane; the line up is a metal head’s dream. Every style of metal is showcased at the festival and there is a great mix of both classic and up and coming bands.
What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock?
Primarily we’re most looking forward to our set. We cannot wait to show the crowd what we’re all about. We’re also extremely excited to meet the other metal to the masses winners and generally have a great festival experience.
What can the audience expect from you at the festival?
An incredible amount of energy. We’re going to make sure that we give everything we have and we will definitely be the making the most out of playing on a larger stage. So there will be copious amounts of head banging, tight musicianship and a bunch of songs that we hope the crowd will enjoy.
Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence?
It is the best heavy metal festival.
