A Thousand Enemies Review, Hammerfest 4

Since forming last year out of the ashes of 2 bands, A Thousand Enemies have attracted outstanding reviews and praise from fans and press alike! How have they managed this, simply by doing what they love and believe in!

To say I’ve been looking forward to seeing the guys play is a bit of an understatement, so the question is do they live up to the hype? I was about to find out as they took to the stage!

The guys had already kicked off their set with ‘Shadow and Substance’ and were just starting the fantastic ‘Enemy Of Mine’ when I got to the Queen Vic. The place was filled with the sound of heavy rock guitars riffs, rocking drumbeats and ballsy basslines combined with Bane’s unique vocals and I knew I was going to be in for a great set!

’Chaos State’ and ‘Forever and a Day’ follow, with their very catchy foot stomping beat packing a punch whilst retaining the bands distinctive groove. There is a terrific party atmosphere in the Vic that is only enhanced through these fantastic songs that the guys are delivering, it really makes the place come alive. In between songs Bane banters along with the crowd.

Next we are treated to ‘Hadley’s Hope’ and ‘Gutter Life’ with both going down just as well as those before them while during the final two songs we see some of the crowd dancing and moshing right down at front of the stage. They bring the set to a close with heavyweight song ‘Value’ which has some of the crowd shouting out ‘We are united’ and ‘We stand as one’ during the choruses.

The guys deliver a solid, powerful set and take command of the audience due to a fantastic stage presence. So yes, I can confirm that A Thousand Enemies do indeed deserve all the rave reviews that they get! I am looking forward to when they bring their album out and hopefully see them live again sometime soon.
