Summary:

"...a dark, dense and claustrophobic sound which appeals to the most primeval elements of your musical soul..."

Automaton - Echoes Of Mount Ida ArtworkThis debut three track EP from Athenians five piece Automaton is one which is unashamedly and proudly rooted in the drone doom tradition of bands such as Sleep and YOB, with the heritage of these acts seeping and flowing through every last second of the 33 compulsive minutes.

With fuzzed-out low-tuned guitars matched by dirty bottom-ended bass lines and simplistically ethereal drums, ‘Echoes…’ delivers a dark, dense and claustrophobic sound which appeals to the most primeval elements of your musical soul and is designed to played at tectonic plate-moving volumes.  Despite its heaviness, however, it’s also an opus minor which induces a remarkable feeling of calm as its sonics wash over you with the lethargy of a Mediterranean summer tide.

Track list:

Going Down

Beast Of War

Breath In Stone / Echoes Of Mount Ida.
