Babylon bastards – We’re the rats in the city streets

babylon bastards - were the rats in the city streetsNorwegian band, Babylon Bastards, were formed in 2012.  In March this year they spent a weekend in the recording studio and recorded their debut EP, “We’re the rats in the city streets”.  The band recorded the EP live as they wanted to capture the raw punk sound of a live gig.

So we get four tracks of fast paced punk infused metal.  The tracks are all around 3-4 minutes long so a total length of 14 minutes for the EP.  The short songs work well with the fast pace.  There’s plenty of good guitar work – solid riffs and a nice solo, the drums sound good and solid, but for my taste the vocals sound slightly thin.  They’re still good, but personally I’d prefer something slightly deeper and more powerful.

A good EP.
