Black Bullets – Interview

Punk n rollers BLACK BULLETS just can’t stop touring and releasing new records (look out for ‘Mockingbird’, which lands on 28th April). The UK hellraisers did manage to find the time to have a chat about their background:

What is the full band line-up, who plays what?

Billy T – Lead Vocals,

Lance Skybaby – Lead guitar / backing vox,

Skinn Klick – Rythm guitar / Backing vox,

Carl D – Drums / Backing vox,

Alice. E. Atkinson – Bass.

How and when did the band form?.

The first line up of The Black Bullets started early 2012. Been through a few line-up changes before settling on this one, which we consider the definitive line up.

When and how did the band really start gelling and solidifying?

The current line is a hybrid of members from different bands which all met on the gigging circuit, and really found our feet when we got together to produce the EP “Bulletproof”, which really was a reaction to all the difficulties we faced up to that point. The song Eat Your Heart Out is really us laughing in the face of it all..

Following the Bulletproof EP, we recorded the Bombshell EP, which was intended as part 2.. instead of a full album, we made parts 1 & 2 Bulletproof & Bombshell.

What are your musical influences?

Musically, we are influenced by various artists from the world of hip hop, country, metal, punk, pop, whatever we consider to be authentic.

How far back does your history with each other (the band members) extend? are you friends from school or any family relations?

The band members have all known each other for over 10 years in different bands but only now have we got together to play in this line up.. Billy T was originally the bands photographer/ artist, but stepped in when the original lead singer left to live in LA, leaving us with a ton of gigs to honour. He’s remained our singer ever since.

We have played all over the uk, Belgium, Holland, Paris, Germany. Fave shows include playing with The Anti Nowhere League, Uk Subs, Vibrators, Warrior Soul, The Main Grains, and more recently at Hard Rock Hell with artists such as Love / Hate, Lita Ford, LA Guns, Michael Monroe etc

If a deaf person were to ask you to describe the sound of your music, how would you describe it?

To a deaf person i would describe us as fast, loud, gritty and energetic.. hydrogen toxic gypsy punk n roll.

Do you have a tour on the horizon?

Our tour dates are on the header photo on our fb page at  http://www.facebook.com/TheBlackBulletsUK/
