Bonfire – The Devil Made Me Do It (new single/video)

Bonfire, a band who have slipped passed my radar since I saw them give Judas Priest a very hard act to follow on tour in 1988 have just released a brand new single/video ‘The Devil Made Me Do It’ from their forthcoming studio album Fistful Of Fire via AFM Records on April 3rd 2020.

Forming in Ingolstadt, Germany in 1972 under the guise of Cacumen, a change of personnel saw them become  Bonfire in 1986 with guitarist Hans Ziller remaining from their beginnings. The song is heavier than I thought it would be. It’s in your face heavy rock with added touches of AOR. The meaty riffs hit hard from the off and a histrionic scream from lead vocalist Alexx Stahl is an early sign of his prowess.

“Whoa oh oh” fueled choruses will surely make it a live favourite as a headbanging midsection leads to a dexterous guitar solo as a drum-driven outro ends on one last mighty scream, an amazing taster for the new album!
