Alt tunesmiths ‘Broken Lungs’ drop their hugely impressive debut offering through digital stores this June and prepare for launch!
Liverpool new guns, Broken Lungs, are set to make a hefty impression on the currently buoyant Brit-rock scene with their whole-hearted brand of melody drenched rock. Blending an earnest alternative edge with probing guitar rhythms and engaging emotive vocals, capped with potent post-punk DIY ethics, the freshly-formed foursome take from the twisting melodies of Biffy Clyro, sheer rock dynamism of Foo Fighters, and the song writing prowess of Manchester Orchestra. In the culmination, Broken Lungs have synthesised an absorbing sound that will pound right out of your speakers.
Although only formed in August 2011, Broken Lungs have wasted no time. Comprised of Karl Eginton (lead vocals & guitar), Carl Fitzpatrick (lead guitar), Alex Forde (bass), and Mark Highdale on drums, the band have undertaken relentless rehearsals and rigorous song-writing passages and now stride forward as they gear to step up to the plate with their debut release, “We’re In This Together.”
The Northern alt-rockers have just returned from the studio, loaded up with their debut EP, a heaving enterprise of strapping riffs and hooky cuts, layered with classy contagious melodies and attentive up-tempo arrangements. From the sweeping anthemic refrain of ‘We Stand Tall’ to the stomping groovage and angst-fuelled aggression of ‘I’m Done With Desperation’, right through to the majestic and supremely tuneful ‘Alleyways’, the alt-rockers wield a sharp knack for solid melody and have unveiled a killer debut record that is sure to drive the band to giddy heights for the remainder of 2012 and beyond!
