Bruce Springsteen returned to Belfast for the 4th time to play in front of a 25,000+ crowd on his current Wrecking Ball Tour. A few of his faithful fans had been camping out in the hot weather to get a top spot in the Kings Hall Arena when it finally opened it’s gates early in the afternoon, and their faithfulness was repaid late afternoon when Bruce came out and played a short 5 song pre-show acoustic set.
As the audience grew in numbers and the scheduled start time was long past, a small number of the audience began to vocalize their displeasure at being made to wait. Eventually Marvin Gaye’s ‘Can I Get A Witness’ blasted out on the massive PA rig and the E-Street Band band began to filter onto the stage finally followed by Springsteen himself, all the waiting had been forgotten and Bruce and the band got down to the important stuff… the music.
